About

The 9th Ward Opera Company is an opera company in New Orleans that hires young, local
musicians who aspire to be professional classical musicians. These musicians will be given a
chance to perform in operatic productions. In doing so, they will be able to work on their craft
and gain much-needed performing experience. This company will primarily produce fun, short operas
that are in the English language in order to attract a local audience who may have previously
had little to no exposure to classical music. We aspire to increase the amount of classical music
performances in New Orleans.
